I have been proficient in computing technologies for over 20 years, with over
8 years of IT employment experience. This experience has dramatically
increased throughout my career via system administration and
programming opportunities, as well as IT support management
responsibilities. My expertise is driven largely by a high aptitude,
exceptional troubleshooting skills, and the ability to automate
daunting, broad-scoped tasks.

| Systems Security Specialist | Acxiom Corporation | July 2005 to Present |
| The Acxiom Security Systems Team is tasked with maintaining security infrastructure for the enterprise, including, but not limited to, security appliances, authentication mechanisms, and secured file transfer platforms. Servers managed include Windows 200x Server, OpenBSD, Slackware Linux, and Red Hat Enterprise/Advanced Server platforms. I am tasked with providing support stemming from my UNIX and programming backgrounds, as well as providing consulting services for other corporate projects, such as file and solutions delivery and business continuity. | ||

Formerly as a member of the Threat Management Team, tasks focused on
identification of potential threats to enterprise network security and
interaction with Symantec Managed Services and other teams within the
enterprise to enumerate and mitigate those threats. This was accomplished by
correlation of network events via various applications and devices, such as
ArcSight ESM, McAfee IPS, Sourcefire NIDS, Symantec CSP, and Symantec ESM.

| Formerly as a member of the Enterprise Security Operations Center, tasks included primarily Check Point FireWall-1 firewall administration, network troubleshooting, occasional interactions with Juniper NetScreen and Cisco PIX environments, and assisting in Perl and shell development of a firewall rule management system. | ||
| UNIX Systems Administrator | Dillard's, Inc. | February 2005 to July 2005 |
| This opportunity constituted IT on-call support of AIX, Linux, and Solaris servers for one of the largest retailers in North America. I received training in AIX 5.3, LPAR for POWER5 series, and DB2 administration for maintenance of datacenter of this national retail chain. Tasks included implementing security policies, configuration of variety of IBM systems, providing user support for system issues, and automation of tasks with Perl, Korn shell, and Expect. | ||
| Solutions Developer | Acxiom Corporation | November 2002 to February 2005 |
| Database flatfile processing in IBM AIX environment involved design, development, maintenance, and execution of programs written in a variety of languages: C, Perl, SAS, SyncSort, Korn shell, SQL, and other internal company tools. I was considered the subject matter expert in several technically-complex tasks of custom mailing campaigns, as well as serving as the "go-to guy" for UNIX-related questions or tasks. Campaign work was based in a team-oriented environment, yet I received sole responsibility for other projects. I was actively involved in brainstorming of process improvements. Streamlining and automating of team processes was made through extensive use of shell scripting. This streamlining allowed for reducing the required processing and runtime of first half of campaign from twenty days to ten. Automation of UNIX processes via environment-aware shell scripting and cron jobs allowed for little to no user intervention for weekend runtimes. I was also heavily involved in troubleshooting processes and system issues. | ||

| Bachelor of Science, Computer and Information Science |
Arkansas Tech University | December 2001 |
| Completion of classes included training in applications programming, systems analysis, and client/server programming. As part of my studies, programming languages included C++, Visual Basic, RPG, Motorola 68HC11 Assembler, COBOL, and Perl. Operating systems touched upon included UNIX, GNU/Linux, and MUSIC/SP. During this time, I began to use FreeBSD as my primary operating system of choice. All UNIX skills were self-taught. | ||
